How Fidvela works
This page describes how Fidvela is designed to work. The table on the Governance and security page shows what is built today.
Fidvela takes one daily job, such as preparing a deal file, from the first email to a file ready for a person. This page walks through that job.
Illustration with made-up data: the checklist of one file. Photo identification: read. Pay stub: read. Bank statement: read, with one flag. T4 slip: not received, requested. Each document shows where it stands.
The job, step by step
Documents arrive by email
Documents sent to the file are added to it. Mail from a sender Fidvela does not know is held, unread, until someone at your firm releases it.
Each document is read and sorted
Fidvela records the type of each document and the figures in it, with the page each figure came from. You can see where every document stands: received, being read, read, or not read and why. A document sent twice is recognised and not read again.
The documents are checked against each other
Income against deposits, names across documents, document dates and gaps in statements. Each result says consistent, not consistent, or cannot be checked, with the reason and the pages it rests on. All arithmetic is done by ordinary software, not by the AI.
Missing items are requested and followed up
Fidvela drafts a request listing what is still needed. A person approves it before it is sent. Reminders repeat only the approved items still outstanding, and stop when everything is in.
A person reviews the file
The file shows the checklist, every flag with its reason, and each figure beside its source page. Your team approves, edits or rejects. Nothing is handed on without that approval.
When work stops, the file says why
If a limit is reached, a document cannot be read or a service Fidvela depends on is unavailable, the file says so in plain words. When the agreed AI service is unavailable, work waits. It is not moved to a different service to keep going.
You choose how much it does
Watch
Fidvela reads what arrives and prepares everything beside your team, but sends nothing outside your firm. Your team compares its work with their own.
Assist
Fidvela does the work, and a person approves each request and package before it goes out.
Your firm decides when to move from one to the other.
What Fidvela does not do
- It does not make credit decisions, give advice or choose products for a borrower.
- It does not decide whether something is fraud, and it does not file reports to any regulator.
- It does not send anything to a lender on its own.
- It does not ask for bank passwords.
- It does not pretend to be a person. Its messages say they were written by an AI assistant.
- It does not change how it works on its own. Any change to how it handles your files is approved by a named person at your firm first.
